Nutrition and hydration play a key role in keeping the skin healthy. The National Institute of Health and Care Excellence recognises deficiencies in diet as a risk for developing pressure ulcers and international guidance recommends using a nutritional screening tool to assess risk of malnutrition and other risk factors. Evidence and recommendations for assessment and action when assessing an individual’s risk of developing a pressure ulcer.
