‘The world’s biggest quango’: the first five years of NHS England

Report that finds that the creation of NHS England has failed to take the politics out of health care provision in England.  It finds it has given the NHS its own genuinely independent voice and action, for the first time.  It concludes however moves to create a unified board approach to the NHS and more integrated services locally means that, at some point fresh legislation will be needed.
