Sustainability, innovation and empowerment: a five year vision for the independent social care sector

Care England, the largest representative body for independent social care providers, has published a report on the state of social care warning of a collapse in the system if providers and commissioners do not work together and more nurses are not recruited into the independent sector. It states that the next five years will be crucial in ensuring that the care and support services that many people rely on remain sustainable.

Values-based recruitment

The Values Based Recruitment (VBR) Framework is a tool which aims to provide evidence to support employers and higher education institutes recruit for values, share good practice and to provide guidance and support.

To offer additional support for implementation of values-based recruitment HENW is currently piloting a values and behaviours assessment tool (VBAT). The purpose of the VBAT pilot is to contribute to the development of recruitment processes that attracts and select students, trainees or employees on the basis that their individual values and behaviours align with the values of the NHS Constitution.
